“Will you continue in the … breaking of the bread, and in the prayers?” Asked during the sacramental rite of Baptism, this question gets at the heart of what a faith community is all about: the worship and praise of God. Our highest calling as people of faith is to give honor to God through a life of prayer which forms and shapes us as holy people of a Holy God. Worship begins as the community gathers for corporate prayer and celebration of the gift of Christ’s offering in the Holy Eucharist. We are then sent out into the world rejoicing in God’s Spirit: a people forgiven, healed, and renewed. Individually, we are called to live lives of prayer, as we offer our selves, our souls, and bodies as gifts of love which God uses for the benefit of the world.
